When the Body says No: Stress and Mind-Body Unity in Health and Illness
presented by Dr. Gabor Maté
Thursday, May 10th, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, at the Casablanca Winery Inn, off the QEW in Grimsby, ON
Gabor Maté, MD, is a physician and author. As a public speaker he addresses professional and lay audiences all over North America. His four books are all Canadian bestsellers.
The Brain and Body systems that process emotions are intimately connected with the hormonal apparatus, the nervous system, and in particular the immune system. Emotional stress, especially of the hidden kind that people are not aware of, undermines immunity, disrupts the body's physiological milieu and can prepare the ground for disease. In an important sense, disease in an individual can be seen as the "end point" of a multigenerational emotional process.
Registration includes light breakfast, lunch, refreshments and free parking.
