Dear Social Work Student:

On behalf of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW), we are writing to congratulate you on your choice of social work as a career - it is a dynamic, stimulating and highly rewarding profession. We also want to extend best wishes as you embark on the upcoming academic year.

Social workers play a significant role in the lives of Ontarians - as clinicians, community developers, policy advisors, educators and researchers, to name but a few of these roles. In these various capacities, it is vitally important that social workers speak with an informed, unified voice. Together, social workers can advocate for progressive social change on issues that impact on clients and promote excellence in social work practice.

Every profession has an association that provides services to members, addresses issues related to practice, and provides a public face and cohesive voice for the profession. OASW is the voice of social work in Ontario. Since students represent the future of our profession, your involvement is vital. Join OASW to strengthen and influence the future direction of your profession.
