Brad Young

 Brad Young, MSW, RSW, is a dedicated and compassionate social worker whose career has been deeply rooted in advancing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) across all levels of care and advocacy. With a strong commitment to creating more equitable systems and fostering inclusive environments, Brad brings both lived experience and professional expertise to the forefront of his work.

He has developed significant expertise in medical social work, where he has supported individuals and families navigating complex health challenges. His practice within hospital-based mental health programs has positioned him as a leader in integrated care models: addressing the intersection of physical and mental health with a trauma-informed, person-centered approach. He is especially skilled in counselling, crisis intervention, discharge planning, and psychosocial assessments, always ensuring that the needs of the most vulnerable are met with dignity and respect.

Beyond his clinical work, Brad is a passionate advocate for the social work profession. He actively engages in initiatives that highlight the essential role of social workers in health care and beyond advocating for system-level changes through participation in various committees and councils in efforts to enhance the profession’s visibility, sustainability, and impact.

Innovation is at the heart of Brad’s practice. He consistently explores emerging mental health interventions and evidence-based approaches to improve outcomes for clients. Whether integrating digital tools in therapy or piloting collaborative care models, Brad remains at the cutting edge of mental health practice.
