Summer often offers a chance to pause, reflect, and reconnect: with ourselves, our communities, and one another. In a profession that often asks us to hold space for others, we'd like to create a couple of opportunities this summer for social workers to connect with one another, and their professional association.
We invite you to join us for an informal virtual Campfire Conversation with OASW. This is not a webinar, presentation, or professional development session. Rather, it's a chance to gather in community, share experiences, and connect with colleagues across Ontario.
It's also an opportunity to get to know your association. Many social workers are familiar with the role of the College (OCSWSSW) but have questions about the OASW, our advocacy work, member services, and how we support the profession. Bring your questions, we'd love to hear them.
We're also interested in learning from you and your social work experiences!
What are you seeing in your communities and areas of practice? What challenges and opportunities are emerging for social workers? Are there spaces where OASW could play a stronger role in supporting the practice and collective voice of social work(ers) in Ontario?
Bring a cup of coffee, tea, or your favourite summer beverage and join us for a relaxed evening conversation.
We will draw names at each session for an OASW member to receive two OASW mugs, and coffee gift card, to carry the conversations forward around their own fire/tables this summer.
To help create space for meaningful dialogue, participation is limited to 20 members per session, with a waitlist available if demand exceeds capacity.
We will evaluate whether additional sessions are needed based on interest and demand.
