Lisa Van Hezewijk

Representing OASW members in Durham/Kawartha, Huronia Highlands and Kingston Branches.

Lisa Van Hezewijk, MSW, RSW, has over 22 years of clinical social work experience.  She considers it a privilege to work in this field and is committed to promoting the value of social work in her personal and professional life.  Having worked in family service agencies as well as addiction services she has provided assessment, counselling, psychotherapy, and wellness education in both rural and urban communities.  In 2010 she opened her private practice and has been offering counselling and psychotherapy services with a particular focus on helping clients build secure, connected and satisfying relationships in their lives.

She completed an undergraduate degree at Queen’s University and a Masters of Social Work at the University of Toronto.  Beginning in 1995 she joined the OASW Kingston Branch board as a way of connecting with other social workers in the area.  More recently, from 2011-2017, she was an active board member and served as Treasurer for Durham-Kawartha Branch.  Her experience on both the Kingston Branch and the Durham-Kawartha Branches position her well for the challenge of working at the Provincial level serving members of the SouthEastern Region.
