Celebrating Advocacy: The 35th anniversary of the founding of Ontario social work's first regulatory college
Members of the Western Branch of the Ontario Association of Social Workers and graduates of social work programs at King’s University College are cordially invited to celebrate one of our Association's greatest advocacy efforts: the achievement of legislation to govern social work practice and the founding of our first college of social workers, an important milestone along the way to that achievement.  The event will take place in the context of Homecoming at King's.

Date: Saturday, October 21, 2017
Time: 3:45 pm
Place: Vitali Student Lounge, King's University College,

Refreshments & cash bar to follow.

Special Guest: Dr. Dan Andreae, Past President of OASW (1993-2000, 2006-8), Director of Project Legislation (1989-93) and a major driving force behind the lengthy campaign to achieve legislation.

A new commemorative plaque will be unveiled.

London Pride Parade
OASW Western Branch marched in the London Pride Parade on July 24, 2016. It was an opportunity to join in solidarity with Londoners to celebrate diversity, challenge discrimination and violence, and advocate for London to create a safe and supportive community where everyone can be themselves. We promoted the community's knowledge of Social Workers as part of this safe and supportive community and agents of positive change with individuals, families, and groups as well as with communities and policy-makers.
