OASW is excited to launch an Open Call for Volunteer Leadership Positions for the 2023 year, building on our strong history of engagement and the success of our Advisory Groups and our Local Engagement Network Program.

Connect with like-minded members, build your leadership skills, and share your expertise, skills, and experience to support our continued momentum and growth! We are currently seeking members interested in becoming a Local Engagement Ambassador and/or joining any of the following Advisory Groups and Committees of OASW's Board of Directors: 


Local Engagement Ambassadors:

  • Multiple positions leading networks in locations across the province, with a one-year commitment

Health Care Advisory Group:

  • 3 positions (general members) with a two-year term commitment  
  • Experience in Home and Community Care and Primary Care Settings will be strongly considered 

Long-Term Care Subcommittee (Subcommittee of the Health Care Advisory Group):

  • 3 positions (general members) with a two-year term commitment

Private Practice Advisory Group:

  • 2 positions (general members) with a two-year term commitment 

Motor Vehicle Accident Subcommittee (Subcommittee of the Private Practice Advisory Group):

  • 4 positions (general members) with a two-year term commitment 

Equity Integration Advisory Group: 

  • 3 positions (general members) with a two-year term commitment 

School Social Work Advisory Group:  

  • 2 positions (general members) with a two-year term commitment 
  • Experience in a Northern and/or rural school settings and/or applicants who bring a specific perspective of supporting Indigenous students and their families will be strongly considered. 

Nominating Committee: 

  • 2 positions (general members) with a two-year commitment 

We welcome applications from all members and will be prioritizing those from individuals within equity-deserving groups. This includes (but is not limited to) individuals who identify as Black, Indigenous, Persons of Colour, 2SLGBTQ+ and those living with (dis)ability.

About OASW
OASW is the voice of social work in Ontario. It is a voluntary, bilingual, non-profit association representing 8,250+ social workers. All members have a university degree in social work at the bachelor, master or doctoral level. OASW works to actively speak on behalf of social workers on issues of interest to the profession and advocates for the improvement of social policies and programs directly affecting social work practice and client groups served.
