Summary: What are the emerging trends and challenges facing social workers over the next 2 to 5 years? How do we as individual social workers and as a profession need to be positioned to move forward in a time of unprecedented change in the structure and funding of social and health services? Dr. Keith Adamson, OASW President, brings more than 20 years of experience in clinical, management and professional practice leadership roles. He is presently the Senior Director for Collaborative Practice at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in Toronto.

"Our government values the extensive knowledge you have about how individual well-being is linked to families, communities and larger social issues." In her remarks, the Honourable Dr. Helena Jaczek, Minister of Community and Social Services, emphasized the crucial role of social workers in Ontario:

  •  "You are the professionals who help turn our government's policies and programs into action at the community level and I know that your work makes a real difference in the lives of thousands of Ontarian's every day."
