Annual General Meeting 2018

"Being on the Frontline: Exploring the Impact of Mental Health, Addictions and Health Equity on Social Work"

Uppala Chandrasekera, MSW, RSW

According to the Canadian Mental Health Association, 1 in 5 Canadians will personally experience a mental health problem or illness this year. Recent media and corporate attention to the topic of mental health has done much to decrease stigma and increase mainstream conversations about this important topic. However, there is an essential element that is often missing from these discussions.

On May 4th, join us in welcoming Uppala Chandrasekera (MSW, RSW), Director of Public Policy and the Canadian Mental Health Association Ontario and recipient of the OASW Inspirational Leaders Award 2018, to our AGM to discuss health equity and the impact of racism on mental health, as well as we can promote good mental health for all and practice self-care in this process.
