2023 School Social Work Achievement Award

The School Social Work Advisory Group of the Ontario Association of Social Workers is once again delighted to be recognizing an outstanding member with the School Social Work Achievement Award. Please consider nominating an OASW Member and School Social Worker who has exceeded your expectations. 

The recipient could be recognized for outstanding services, a commitment to social work values, and/or for a notable accomplishment. Nominees should demonstrate a commitment to equity and social justice, which might be exemplified through the following:

  • community advocacy and engagement
  • enhancing equity-focused learning, knowledge, and practice at a school, community, or system level
  • grounding practice in decolonizing and anti-racist approaches
  • promoting systemic change
  • promoting equitable and just learning environments for students and the entire school community

Submitting Nominations

Nominations are now closed. 




 

  • A nominee must be: a social worker providing mental health services to students in schools; an OASW member; and a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
  • Members of the School Social Advisory Group cannot be nominated or submit a nomination.
  • Individuals who have served on the School Social Work Advisory Group cannot be nominated until three years after the end of their term on the Advisory Group.

The selected recipient of the School Social Work Achievement Award will be presented with the Award at the virtual School Social Work Symposium on November 14, 2023.
