Support for Changes to Residential Tenancies Act that Impact on Victims of Domestic Violence

On July 3, 2015, OASW made a submission in support of the proposed amendments to the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006, (RTA) which relate to notice requirements to terminate a tenancy for individuals and/or children who are victims of domestic violence. OASW unequivocally supports the government taking steps expeditiously towards providing amendments to the RTA that will permit early exit for victims of domestic violence, who are one of the most vulnerable populations in Ontario.
