Carol Soares, MSW, RSW, MPEd, EdD (c) (she/her), is a registered social worker/psychotherapist, project leader, and equity, diversity, and inclusion specialist who has dedicated the greater part of her 27-year career to supporting initiatives that address social justice issues. She joined the OASW Board of Directors in 2022. She was appointed 1st Vice-President in 2024 and Interim President in 2025.
She previously managed the Toronto Catholic District School Board’s Student and Workforce Census project, leading interest holder consultations, partnerships, and equity-focused data initiatives. Carol is a contract teaching faculty member at Wilfrid Laurier University and a Learning Advisor at Centennial College. Her work also includes consulting on anti-Black racism and equity strategy, as well as developing policies, training, and organizational change initiatives.
